It's WEATHERPROOF, DURABLE, rated for OVER TWO MILLION activations, and can easily endure any shock or vibration experienced in a boat.
The click dial allows the G2.5 & G3 to have:
- Dual Resolution Throttle Control
- Many HUNT Mode improvements,
- A new user interface that makes them the easiest units to use!
The other guys' buttons use clumsy "jogging" routines that don't work in the real world because the device sets the rate of throttle change and NOT the user. Jogging schemes always overshoot the target throttle going up, and undershoot it when going down. They limit performance for convenience.
See the next topic regarding Dual Resolution Throttle Control which continues iTroll's long standing reputation of Legendary Boat Control!
YOU control the rate of throttle change by choosing fine or coarse resolution. This is accomplished by pressing the dial or the G3's transmitter's "RES" button. Note: G2.5 is a non - wireless unit, and therefore does not have a transmitter.
The other "Jogging" routines that our competitors use cannot match our dual resolution control.
One competitor has a million codes. Sounds like a lot? Not really. If they sell 10,000 transmitters, there's a 1 in 100 chance of crosstalk, with the probability increasing with every unit they sell.
Fact: Many distributors of the million code systems specifically state that they are NOT suitable for "high security applications". Is your boat's throttle important enough to be considered "High Security"?
Note: G3 unit shown.
Keypad illuminates only when it's dark to save battery power. It doesn't draw a lot, but every amp counts in boats with power hungry accessories.
As expected, we did this first, and it wasn't easy. It took NINE months to design our keypad. Additionally, a lighted keypad costs a LOT more than a "Dark" one.
There's keypads that meet our standards, and then there's everyone else's.

Ask yourself this question: If the other guys were the first to illuminate their keypad, would they have thought to give it light sensing technology? We think the answer is NO as they lack our innovative vision and capability to build the absolute BEST product on the market.
Servos DO get wet - from a back wave swamping the cowl intake, a dealer washing the motor after a service, or an unexpected rainstorm when the cowl of the motor is off. Any water in a non - waterproof servo will eventually ruin it.
Marine environments are HUMID and an unsealed servo can fail due to airborne moisture or condensation.
A waterproof servo makes an iTroll installation as bulletproof as possible so you can enjoy years of trouble free operation.
It's packed with 32 sensors to detect rotation and one switch to detect when the dial is pressed.
This assembly is EXPENSIVE. We could have used a cheaper part, but we refuse to compromise on any aspect of an iTroll.
Both competitors have non-waterproof remotes. One specifically states that their remote should NOT be submerged. The other uses a remote without an IP rating, and has minimal sealing.
Our wireless components have FCC and CE certification which means it's legal for us to sell and for you to operate them.
Our beta testers raved on how the LED made such a difference when operating the unit!

Our competitor's products were introduced AFTER our G2 unit and they fall far short of the features that it contains.
With the G2.5 / G3, we further cement our position as the market leader!

Watch the above video to see the interface when using the G3's "Options Menu".
It took over two years to code the G2.5 / G3, with a SUBSTANTIAL amount of time spent on the UI.
G2.5 / G3 users are RAVING about the user interface and are saying that we outdid ourselves!
No one engineers a product like iTroll's designer - Period!
Our competitors use buttons and in contrast, coding buttons is very simple.

The software portion of the G2.5 / G3 for the dial is MANY HUNDREDS of lines of sophisticated code. In comparison, iTroll's designer estimates that he could create up and down buttons that jog in a few dozen lines of code.
When you examine everything the G2.5 / G3 does, and how seamlessly they perform these tasks, you realize the brilliance of their designs!

The owner's manual has many tips and suggestions on how to use the G2.5 / G3 so you can take full advantage of the features that are available to you.
Most importantly, our CLEAR and ILLUSTRATED install instructions make it easy for you to properly install the iTroll for years of trouble free and safe operation!
A written warranty has no indication about the quality of a product, or the way a company does business.
At iTroll our products are designed and built for utmost reliablity and performance in order to eliminate warranty repairs at all costs. We don't skimp on the design, components, or manufacturing methods to make an iTroll.
In contrast, our competitors do business differently . . .

We've never seen Competitor #2's warranty, it's not on their website, but they often suggest that they fix units to make customers happy. Without, a written warranty, there are no terms that they are promising to abide by. They can change their minds on a whim. Basically, their warranty is based on you trusting them.
In our opinion, we are 100% sure that his remote is illegal because it does not have FCC certification. They are willing to break the law and they expect your trust?
Insurance companies HATE that the iTroll controls the throttle of a boat and their rates reflect this. Unfortunately, this gets built into the price of every iTroll. However, my customers are protected in case the unforeseen happens.
The law states that wireless devices, MUST have FCC certification, so we comply. There is another reason why this is important .....

We suspect that at least one competitor is not on a level playing field and is doing business without PL Insurance or FCC certification. Wireless products need a certification number to be legal, his does not have a number. The statement "Our remote would pass FCC" is not enough. Think about this statement . . . "Officer, I know how to drive, therefore, I don't need a license". Ask questions, demand proof, be informed.
