Mercury / Tohatsu 9.8 & 9.9 HP EFI motors:
Prior to 2024, the 9.8 and 9.9 EFI was built with a 0.333 liter (333 cc) power head. In 2024, the displacement was changed to 0.209 liter (209 cc). The two power heads require different iTroll "Fit Kits", so identification is needed. There are five ways to identify which motor you have:
Method #1: By date of purchase or ownership:
This method applies to BOTH Mercury and Tohatsu branded motors.

Method #2: By Serial Number
This method applies to ONLY Mercury branded motors.
Please make selection:
Serial number 1R008146 thru 1R278792
Serial Number 1R281146 and up
Note: Serial number sticker is located on transom clamp.

Method #3: By Engine Displacement
This method applies to BOTH Mercury and Tohatsu branded motors. Note: Mercury emissions sticker is shown.
Determine your engine displacement removing cowl (lid) and by finding the emissions sticker. Please make selection:
Engine displacement .333 liter or 333 cc
Engine displacement .209 liter or 209 cc
