iTroll installation in a 36 foot Tiara Sportfisher. This installation showcases the technology that sets iTroll apart from all the other products on the market.
Even if you plan to put iTroll on a single kicker, it's nice to know that you are getting this level of engineering in the unit you are purchasing.
iTroll is the only throttle controller that was designed to run motors larger than those typically used as "kickers".
Controlling the throttle of a main motor goes WAY beyond installing a servo and pulling on a motor's throttle. There has to be features engineered into the throttle controller to safeguard the occupants of the boat and the gearbox of the motor(s). Additionally, iTroll is unique in it's ability to control TWO motors. This is why iTroll makes all other throttle controllers look like devices from the "stone age".
iTroll specifics:
Dual Motor Enabled: iTroll can control two motors. The operator can switch between the port or starboard motor to balance the operating hours of the motors.
Programmable Throttle Safety Limits: Puts an electronic limit on the amount of power available for trolling. This feature is vital to insure the safety of the occupants of the boat. Each motor on this boat produce an estimated 450HP. No one needs 450 horses to troll.
Neutral Safety Feature: iTroll reads the position of the shifters - in gear or neutral. When trolling, if the shifter is moved from "In Gear" to "NEUTRAL", iTroll recongnizes this action and puts the throttle at IDLE. This insures that should the shifter be put in gear, it encounters an engine at idle. A throttle controller without neutral safety capability does not safeguard the gearbox from accidental harm.
